Heybridge is also the planned Tasmanian site for Marinus Link's converter station and a new 220 kV switching station at the former Tioxide industrial site on the Bass Highway, and regional transmission upgrades are planned to connect Sheffield, Burnie and Palmerston. Locally, the council's Heybridge Community Plan identifies future footpath, kerb and play-space improvements that are not currently funded or scheduled; the council rebuilt and reopened the Heybridge community facility and the capital program lists LED ground lighting for the recreation ground.
