Our Values

Everyone at OpenAgent plays a part in delivering on our promise to make it easy for people to buy, sell and own their home. What that means is you get a bunch of very clever people all working towards the same outcome. We work hard but we have fun doing it. At the end of the day, achieving big things with an awesome team is what makes this journey exciting and addictive.

Our People Principles

Having great people has been the biggest contributor to our success - this will be even more true as we continue to grow. We’ve thought deeply and carefully about the type of workplace we want to be, to attract the people we want to work with. As our business evolves, these principles are our North Star.

Unstoppable Talent

Our team is made up of a diverse set of talented, capable and driven individuals. We’re energised by smart, creative, curious and passionate people who are hard to discourage and don’t stop at good enough. Highly motivated team players who love a really tough problem – and can always find another gear when the going gets tough.

Personal Sustainability

We want to create the most personally sustainable workplace in Australia. We’re trying to solve big, complex problems and it’s not easy. A sustainable work environment is one where people can do their best work and live their best lives at the same time. Health, family, financial security, personal growth and professional success can and should be simultaneously possible.

Meaningful Work

We want our people to feel like they’re doing something important and positive for our society. We want them to be proud to work at Doorsteps.

Encouraging Growth

We want our people to grow personally and professionally. We want their time at Doorsteps to be an important, memorable and hugely positive chapter in their lives.

Some of our benefits

Work from home

We're a distributed company - there's no central office and our team primarily works from home. We offer the flexibility to work from anywhere in Australia, including access to co-working spaces in some capital cities. We're constantly optimizing the way we work to create the best possible environment while allowing our team to enjoy the benefits of working from home.

Work from home allowance

We’ve learned how important it is to be properly set up to work from home full time. We make sure our employees have the technology they need to do their job and also offer an annual allowance of $500 to each employee to put towards customising their work from home setup. This allowance is available to each employee at the start of each financial year.

Paid parental leave

We offer 18 weeks paid leave, plus super, for either parent as the primary carer within 12 months of their child being born. We also offer paid leave for miscarriage and for partners who are not the primary carer

Personal and professional growth

In addition to providing the initial and ongoing training that each employee needs, we offer an additional benefit to encourage growth. Every year, each employee is eligible for an additional five days’ paid leave to spend on their personal or professional growth. We’ll also provide up to $1500 towards the cost of training or other activities that an employee chooses to undertake.

Birthday leave

Everyone in the team gets a paid day off on their birthday. It’s our way of saying we’re glad you were born!
