Burleigh Heads suburb profile
Burleigh Heads is a coastal suburb on the southern Gold Coast built around a distinctive headland and a patrolled surf beach, with Burleigh Heads National Park protecting rainforest walking tracks and clifftop views over the break. Its village heart along James Street and the Esplanade has a tightly knit strip of cafes, restaurants and boutique shops that spill out onto neighbouring parkland and picnic spots. Housing mixes classic timber beach houses on leafy streets with low to mid-rise apartment living nearer the shore, and the area appeals to surfers, families and professionals who favour an active, beachside lifestyle with straightforward road and bus connections to the wider coast.
